Restaurants & bars

Whether you’re into Michelin-starred restaurants, bistros, takeaways, cocktails or a cold pint, you can find it all in Copenhagen. Denmark and its New Nordic cuisine has in the recent years experienced a renaissance and is now one of the world’s most distinctive and innovative cuisines, especially with their commitment to organic, sustainable and local products. Here are our recommendations for places to eat and drink in Copenhagen.

Restaurants

Aamanns
Smørrebrød, a Danish classic that many of our guests request. One kilometre away, on the other side of the lakes, you will find Aamanns Etablissement. Here you can enjoy a delicious lunch, with Aamanns well-known smørrebrød and good service. If you are on the go, you can buy smørrebrød at Aamanns Deli & Take Away, which is right next to Aamanns Etablissement.

Delphine
In the heart of Vesterbro you will find the restaurant Delphine, which is inspired by the food and atmosphere of the Greek archipelago and southern Italy. The menu offers fish, seafood, meat and vegetables cooked on the grill. Of course, you’ll also find classics like taramasalata, tzatziki, watermelon salad and crudoes. The bar serves cocktails, Ouzo, beer and wine.

Madklubben
Madklubben has several different restaurants spread throughout Copenhagen. At Madklubben you get delicious food at reasonable prices. Their menu is inspired by many different countries. It is therefore not unusual to find dishes inspired by France, Italy or even Asian street food.

Kødbyen
Copenhagen’s market and butcher’s halls are located on Vesterbro and have housed the meat industry for many years. Today, Kødbyen is a creative cluster where Copenhagen’s new and trendy places open, such as countless restaurants, nightclubs and art galleries – alongside the butchers who still operate here.

Bars

BOULEBAR
When you enter BOULEBAR, you are sent directly to the streets of southern France. It’s full of French vibes, where people from across different generations meet over a glass and a game of petanque.

Godt Øl
Godt Øl is a cosy speciality beer bar serving beer on draught and in bottles. The bar is located in the old medieval town in the centre of Copenhagen, close to Christiansborg and Strøget. So whether you enjoy the streets or the more cultural part of Copenhagen, stop by Godt Øl and enjoy the cosy atmosphere over a glass of Godt Øl. They play soft music so it’s possible to chat or play one of the many board games.

Pompette
In Nørrebro you’ll find good wine at modest prices – even in a cool bar in a popular part of town. In addition to glasses and bottles, Pompette also serves a selection of charcuterie, cheeses and other small cold dishes. Pompette is just one of the many charming little bars and cafés in buzzing Nørrebro.

We’re always looking for more recommendations, so we’d love to hear from you if you’ve experienced anything that’s worth recommending.
